The new Lakota Middle School was designed to meet high sustainability standards on a tight budget. Technical elements, such as photo-voltaic panels, reduce energy consumption while playing an active role in student education. Collaborative learning environments and technology labs invite 21st-century learning, such as STEM education.  

Due to numerous design changes, a claim was made. Hainline provided a calculation of damages and expert testimony during arbitration.
