Bethel School District

Evergreen Elementary School, originally built in 1979, is undergoing a $25 million GC/CM modernization with a 10,000 SF addition to its 48,000 SF occupied campus. The scope includes renovation of 23 existing classrooms, creation of a new commons and kitchen, installation of updated MEP systems to meet current code, enhanced site circulation and frontage, and a secure entry vestibule.
Chuck Hartung served as GC/CM Advisor, guiding PRC application strategy, GC/CM procurement and selection, and risk-allocation provisions. April Elliott, as Project Manager, oversees daily coordination, schedule and budget management, stakeholder communication, and facilitates cost-and-risk workshops.
Since receiving CPARB approval in May 2023, the team has completed 12 constructability reviews, resulting in eight key design clarifications that achieved $450,000 in early value-engineering savings. Now in the pre-closeout phase, the project is on track for substantial completion on July 25, 2025, with final completion expected before the start of the school year in August.
