The new Lakota Middle School was designed to meet high sustainability standards on a tight budget. Technical elements, such as photo-voltaic panels, reduce energy consumption while playing an active role in student education. Collaborative learning environments and technology labs invite 21st century learning, such as STEM education.

Due to numerous design changes, a claim was made. Hainline provided a calculation of damages and expert testimony during arbitration.
