Bethel School District spearheaded the first Skills Center in Pierce County. Phase I of the Skills Center consisted of the development of the campus site, a new 22,691 square-foot building, and renovations to an existing Safeway building (built out in Phase II). Phase III saw the first K12 facility in Washington State completed with the Design-Build delivery method. The Center includes instruction in baking and production cooking, as well as a kitchen for live demonstrations and a student-operated deli. Students can take advantage of a career center and commons.

Hainline was hired during Phase I to provide scheduling expertise and as a neutral party project manager to encourage mutually beneficial compromises and avoid disputes, while ensuring that the project was completed on-time and within budget. Though there was no original guarantee from the contractor to meet the back-to-school deadline in the fall, major progress was made in the four months after Hainline was retained.

Hainline continued on Phase III, creating bridging documents for the Design-Build process, assisting in the selection process of the Design-Build team, and providing miscellaneous project management support during the construction process.
