Convention Center Expansion | Washington State Convention Center

This project was designed to provide suitable space for national conventions. The facility includes three levels of parking, two levels of exhibition halls, a full scale kitchen, and curtain wall galleria. The building is a prototype of utilization of air space above a major freeway (I-5) in the United States and incorporates natural greenery throughout both the interior and exterior of the building.

Hainline advised the Washington State Convention & Trade Center, the design team, and its insurance carrier as to potential liability exposure regarding major claims submitted by the contractor. Hainline reviewed and drafted suggested responses to proposals submitted by the contractor.  Hainline developed as-planned and as-built construction schedules and prepared analyses of construction delays as well as reviewed damages and entitlement for a contractor claim. Based partly upon the results of the analysis, the claim mediated and settled.
